Girls Night Out - Red Dress Ink Print E-mail

girlsnightout Want a great read but don't have time for a full-fledged novel? Red Dress Ink's Girls' Night Out, a collaboration of some of today's best chick-lit authors, is a touching, witty, and fast-paced compilation of short stories about modern women and the experiences they go through. Whether single or attached, content or looking for a mood-lifter, the Girls' Night Out anthology has every literary delight you could possibly want.

The 25 stories in Girls' Night Out range from quirky and light ("Ladies' Night At the Underwood Pet Hospital") to deep and meaningful ("The End"), but they are each entertaining and memorable in their own right. Marian Keyes gives a fresh take to an old fairy tale ("You're Snow White and you're working your way through the Seven Dwarfs!"). Meg Cabot entertains audiences with the story of two women who are deciding whether or not to attend their 10 year high school reunion. Sound familiar?

Imogen Edwards- Jones offers a tragic tale of a newlywed who is stuck in a past fantasy with an old lover while Cecelia Ahern's somber narrative tells the story of a relationship in reverse, beginning with the break-up in order to provide the requisite fairytale happy ending. While Nicki Earls will have you laughing out loud with her tale of a flirtation attempt gone horribly and humorously wrong; Lynn Messina offers up "Troublemaker" the tale of an overzealous bride who loses the groom in order to win the perfect wedding. Sarah Mlynowski's "A Little Bit Broken" is a personal favorite; sharing with her captive readers the frustration her heroine experiences when she finds out her husband has cheated while at his friend's bachelor party.

Refreshing and short enough to devour no matter your time limit, the Girls' Night Out collection will have you wishing each story was expanded into its own novel. And as an added reason to purchase this book, all net proceeds go to charities overseas. When you're done, check out the prequel, Girls' Night In, for even more great stories from these and more notable women writers.

Never has a night with the girls been this entertaining without having morning-after consequences!
