Question
I'm in my first trimester and want to start a new exercise program. What would be best? AnswerTracey Mallett, mom of two, master Pilates instructor and producer of the 3 in 1 Pregnancy System DVD (Tracey Mallett Fitness) graciously answers this question - The first trimester is not the time to start a NEW exercise routine, continue with what is familiar to the body. I recommend you consult with your MD first and wait until you're in your second trimester. It's also important to mention that if you experience any of the following symptoms light headedness, abdominal pain, onset of headache, nauseated, vision changes, and extreme fatigue or short of breath or bleeding during and after exercise. Stop immediately and see your MD. It's important to not take part in any activities that may cause abdominal trauma and stay well hydrated to prevent over heating.
