| McDonald's Fruit and Maple Oatmeal |

In an effort to provide full disclosure I should let everyone know I can count the number of times I have been in a McDonald’s location in the last decade on one hand. It's not a place I think of visiting considering I live in Manhattan and have an endless amount of amazing restaurants to try. I’m not a big fan of oatmeal by itself so unless it has something in it.. raisins… fruit flavor I won’t even consider eating it. But with the McDonald’s Fruit and Maple Oatmeal with brown sugar (it can be ordered without brown sugar as well) having both apples and raisins in it, I was interested in how the new product would taste. UPDATE - January 12, 2011 Since going to the media event back in December I didn't have a chance to try the Fruit and Maple oatmeal as a regular consumer. I did today. And while I won't go as far as the complaints and reviews I've heard from editors and bloggers, I will say my oatmeal at the media event was far better than what was served today. The fruit and raisins in the oatmeal saved the taste of the pasty thick porridge like oatmeal. It was definitely still edible but not the same. I have to say, it is still worth trying from your local McDonald's, in case your oatmeal will come out different. I'm definitely disappointed at how today's batch turned out.
