Natalie is going to visit Santa for the first time this morning. Heading over to the 8th floor of Macy’s Herald Square to take a photo with him in Santaland. Hopefully it will be an uneventful experience with one of those overpriced 5 x 7 photos to show at the end of it.

Oh sorry, I mean.. hopefully Natalie will have a magical experience in the “holiday wonderland designed to delight children of all ages.”

I wanted to take her to meet Santa for her first Christmas but she was only five months old and it was a major flu season so she only got as far as the restaurant near Macy’s in her cute pink Eskimo hat. Today she will join over 300,000 people who visit Santaland each year to tell Santa their holiday wishes.

And this time she’s going with Lukie and will hopefully tell Santa she wants a present that has already been bought for her. Let’s hope.

Lukie will probably wiggle off Santa’s lap and try to walk around Macy’s instead. Or maybe he will try to take off Santa’s glasses. Hmm… this should be fun.

Prom

Molly and I went to prom today. Oh yes we did. In a black stretch limo stocked with soda, spirits and 100 calorie pack oreos.

On the way to the Library Hotel we had the driver assure us that no one could see into the limo and then we proceeded to point at everyone and wonder where they were going and who they were meeting. Oh, yea I must confess then I also tried to find Molly a boyfriend — picking from the drivers in the cars driving next to us or the workmen on the street. I really am too kind, I know.

The driver (poor guy to have to put up with us!) put on 103.5 KTU and Molly and I sang along to the songs which were clearly late 80s/early 90s. We had no shame and at least on my part… no voice to be singing outloud.

After our meeting, we got back into a different stretch limo, this one wasn’t as cool. In fact it made us car sick. Got back to the office and Elizabeth probably worried quietly that we were going to be sick on the conference table she was sitting at.

Fancy Me Some

I’m not sure what would possess me to go to the Fancy Food Show during the Italy vs. France World Cup finals. No clue. And I definitely hadn’t indulged in a little too much vino.

It was incredibly strange walking through the aisles of the Fancy Food show because sudden thunderous outbursts would erupt from every direction that had a tv screen. From the tiny corner booths to the jumbotron overhead at the entrance, crowds gathered and sat on the floor, on the steps, in the aisles. People ignored their booths as they stared at the screen and drank and ate with others. Some even draped themselves in flags.

Throughout all this.. I still walked through and chatted with the exhibitors. Sadly, I wasn’t able to meet Barefoot Contessa Ina Garten in time. She made a special appearance but had left before I arrived. But she did leave behind really rich desserts. YUM! Oh well… my mother still hasn’t met Ina. One day maybe, one day.

Grab This. Show Love.
