Just the other day, I was writing a mortgage check to pay for day camp.

Today, Natalie was up at sunrise waiting to get ready for her first day of camp.

She walked downstairs, waited for her bus and got on the bus to Long Island without a problem.

No hesitation.

I was the one who almost cried.

Of course I snapped a photo while we waited for the bus to arrive.

The kid is growing up.

In a few hours, it will be Luke’s turn to leave mama and head off to camp.

But he will be local since he’s only 3.

Harrison is the only one not going to day camp this summer.

I’m experiencing empty nest syndrome way too early people!

Anyone else?

OK, I have to confess that between the mortgage payment to pay for the camps, the gas costs to get them there, and then the empty nest thing…. I haven’t sent my kids to any. Aren’t I awful? But I figure they can chase butterflies and catch frogs in my yard just fine… *ahem*…

hi hear you on the mortgage thing! i decided to go halfies (wondering if that would be how one spells half-ies?!) this summer… both kids 8 + 6 will attend a half-day camp for about half of the summer. hence… i’ve had to go halfies as well at cut back on work/blogging etc. i’ve only been nagged about say oh, 15x to get off the computer and help or color or fix a snack.. but i’m trying!
