No Minivan Just Moxie: Notes from the Grown Up Table

New Year, New You

Sure because as the clock struck 12 and 2006 became a thing of the past, clearly a magical force came upon me and everything I resolved to do and become would just happen.

If only things were that simple. But we all know that most New Year’s Resolutions are just so out there and such a shock to our systems that we give them up within a few weeks of trying to be this new person.

So this year, I write my list of 2007 New Year’s resolutions with two promises - I won’t be hard on myself if I don’t accomplish everything I write down today. And I will only write down things I really believe I can work to accomplish or do if I have a little patience. (Patience really isn’t something I have much of - despite the fact I am a Cancer.)

2007 New Year’s Resolutions

    - To have a healthy baby but not find out the sex until he or she arrives (this will probably be harder to do than any other resolution)
    - To return to a healthy weight after having the baby (preferably a weight which can fit into a clothing size I already have in my closet so I don’t have to go shopping. I hate shopping for clothing.)
    - To publish another book - one that positively changes the reader’s life
    - To cook a stress-free holiday dinner or late lunch - completely on my own
    - To throw a party - and take a photo without worrying about how my eyes will look
    - To survive the training for and run the New York Marathon in November

It’s funny; none of my resolutions are the top New Year’s resolutions. Hmm… maybe this year these will happen. lol
