About Savvy Mommy Print E-mail

I’m Victoria Pericon and I am Savvy Mommy.

Victoria PericonIn addition to being the proud mom (my most cherished title ever) of three, I am the editor of this award winning online magazine and website, SavvyMommy.com, spokesperson for various leading corporations (which means I'm a pro at doing 4AM Satellite Media Tours and know all the secrets of frequent flying - with and without children - for multi city media tours), family lifestyle correspondent for the nationally syndicated morning show; The Daily Buzz, host of Savvy Mommy Radio, author of three parenting titles, family lifestyle contributor for over 400 television stations (and almost 500 radio stations!) across the country, frequently quoted mom and consumer lifestyle expert, co-founder of a national children’s charity, family contributor to New York Resident magazine, mommy blogger of No Minivan, Just Moxie and mom blogger for Big Apple Parent magazine. (Whew! That was a pretty long sentence, huh… I think I may have more titles than Ryan Seacrest!)

Savvy MommyBesides my usual product review segments, I am quoted frequently in leading publications like The New York Times, Forbes and USA Today about parenting and in consumer interest stories, appear regularly on national television providing expert advice, fun commentary (Yes, that was me on VH1’s The Fabulous Life of Celebrity Kids and The Fabulous Life of Brad and Angelina's Baby (aka Baby Brangelina), on the radio (Hey now!), in print (Did you manage to catch the results of my photo shoot with both Natalie and Luke in Parents magazine?) and online as a family lifestyle expert and lifestyle trend forecaster. As you can see, I’m always on the go (big shock.. another mom who never sleeps) and not just because I’m often traveling from state to state spreading the word about SavvyMommy.com to other parents.

My children Luke, Harrison and Natalie (See, some people don't use the crazy Hollywood celebrity baby name book!) live with me in Manhattan (relax, they have a 843 acre backyard called Central Park) and I’m a native New Yorker (with manners!). I am not the typical New York mom … let me be a little more specific… I’m not the typical Manhattan mom. (I tend to happily leave all forms of competition to sporting events. I would be the boring one on The Real Housewives of New York City. In other words, I don't bite or brag. Feel free to send me an email whether you agreed or disagreed with something I said on CBS The Early Show or Mike and Juliet.)

If you are wondering how I got started as Savvy Mommy, the story is pretty simple. It took a whopping seven and a half months before I started “showing” during my first pregnancy so I worked 12-14 hour work days and no one treated me differently. The second I started to show, both clients and acquaintances started to equate pregnancy with being unable to function in the workplace. But instead of crying about it, I used my native New Yorker moxie and quickly decided all the pregnancy and maternity research I had been doing in my free time would be used as my new full-time career. That day, I stamped myself "Savvy Mommy" and made the decision to never look back. To borrow loosely from the legendary Nina Simone "It was a new dawn, a new day, a new life and I'm feeling good".

Thanks for visiting my website! I'd love to hear what you think about the site, so please send me an email. You can even email me about the funny looking faces I make on air if you have nothing to say about my website or mom blog. And if you want to hire me as your mom spokesperson for toys, cleaning, cooking, home, food or parenting related products, send me an email.
